Highlights - Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo

Two amazing days of picture taking as we walked into the green, lush, celtic realm of Galicia - what a friend called a "land of legends, Druids and, of course, Santiago". First, Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo...

Spanish basketball court.

Second breakfast - sheep cheese platter. Note the rind in Red's hand.

Police escort in Cacabelos.

For all the lovely Libras in my life.

A door at the Church of Santiago in Villafranca that is said to pardon your
sins if you walk through it. Well, the dang thing was locked up tighter than a tick. But that sure didn't stop us from standing under it.

30 candles for the 30 people on mom's Camino prayer list.

Vino tinto outside our hotel. We had been searching albergues for Rick, when we decided that as soon as we sat down, the Camino would bring him to us. Seconds later, there he was. And about an hour later we ran into Trudy and Leon - our old Camino buddies! A very happy reunion ensued.
