It started with an adventure and became a lifestyle. As a wise pilgrim once said, "The Camino doesn't end in Santiago. It's only just begun."

A New Camino Commences
Friends, Family, Fellow Pilgrims and Adventurers - As many of you may already know mom, Hannes, Aunt Lizzie and I have begun another considerable trekking adventure, walking the approximate 150 miles from Assisi to Rome on the St. Francis Way. I'm not nearly as prepared or as in good a shape as I was at 29 to walk the 1000 miles of the Camino de Santiago with mom, but as my husband once thought, while sitting on a bench with me in Leon, Spain trying to decide if it was worth it to pursue a relationship with a woman who lived thousands of miles away, "What the hell." We're going for it. I've decided not to keep a written blog, but will be posting videos throughout the trip here on The Camino Gypsy Chronicles with my creative collaborator Hannes. The reason being, I want to spend my time taking copious notes to write a book that covers my adventures with mom on the Camino, falling in love with my fellow life adventurer Hannes on the very same trail, and now walking the Via Francigeno di San Francesco with both of them (and Aunt Lizzie) as a boot-stomping, dirt-eating, mile-logging, Italian red wine-sipping family. Who would have thought it possible? Recovering from a harrowing trip from Rome to Assisi as we speak (involving a police run in and a train strike... stories for another time) by eating copious amounts of pistachio pastry. Can't wait to share our humble trail videos with you, including this first pair from Assisi. Ciao e buono camino!
